Tips for joining your Zoom appointment

All of our audiology appointments are conducted over Zoom, and if you're new to Zoom, that's totally ok!

We recommend you test your device with Zoom before the day of your appointment to practice joining a meeting and to test out your video and audio. This will help ensure you're all set to join your appointment with our Audiology Team when the time comes.

If you're having trouble joining on the day of your appointment, try these troubleshooting steps:

Update Zoom - especially if you're getting an “invalid link” message like the one below. This is one of the most common issues we hear from our customers.

Search for Zoom Workplace in the App Store or Google Play Store and install any updates. Once you've installed the newest version of Zoom Workplace, head back to your appointment email and try clicking the meeting link again.

Confirm appointment link: Ensure you're using the correct Zoom link and meeting ID sent via email. You can always access your appointment Zoom link on your account.

Check internet connection: Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Try switching to Wi-Fi or mobile data if the current one is unstable.

Try joining through your computer browser like Chrome or Safari: If the Zoom app isn't working, try joining the appointment via a web browser instead. Use the Zoom link provided in your appointment confirmation or reminder and copy and paste it into your browser.

Try restarting your device: Restart the computer, phone, or tablet you're using to join your meeting. This helps to resolve any network or software issues.

Close any other apps including other instances of Zoom that may be open on your device: Make sure no other apps, such as streaming apps or large downloads are currently open/running on your device.

Expect to see pop ups: Once you join the meeting successfully, you may see a few different pop ups requesting access. Be sure to choose “allow” when Zoom requests access to your camera and microphone.

Other requests such as “Siri” or allowing Zoom to send you notifications are not necessary to accept.
