Connecting your hearing aids to your smartphone is the key to unlocking even more benefits from your hearing aids. You can listen to calls, music, and more directly through your hearing aids. Don’t worry if you’re not a tech expert – this guide will keep things simple and easy to follow.
Before connecting your hearing aids with your smartphone make sure:
- Your hearing aids are charged
- Your hearing aids are near your device throughout the pairing process.
- You are not using your hearing aids
- If you connected previous hearing aids to your phone, make sure to unpair them first and keep them off and away from your smartphone. Not sure how to unpair?
For iOS devices (iPhone/iPad)
- Make sure your Bluetooth is turned on:
- Open your iPhone’s settings app (it looks like a gray gear). Tap Bluetooth and make sure the little switch is green (this means Bluetooth is on).

Find your hearing aids
- In the settings screen, scroll down and tap Hearing Devices.
- Tap Accessibility (look for a little person icon) and Hearing Devices. Your hearing aids should show up on this screen, under ‘Devices’. It may take a minute for your hearing aids to appear. A quick restart ( turn on and off your hearing aids) can help if they are not showing up.
- Pair your hearing aids
- Tap on the name of your hearing aids.
- You'll receive two requests to pair both hearing aids with your phone. Select 'Pair' for both the left and the right.
- Make sure that both 'L' and 'R' appear.
For Android devices
- Step 1: Turn on Bluetooth
- Open your phone’s Settings app (usually looks like a gear). Tap Connections or Bluetooth, then make sure Bluetooth is turned on.

- Make sure your hearing aids are turned on. Put them in pairing mode by opening and closing the battery door or pressing a button (check your manual). In Settings, tap Connected Devices or Pair New Device.
- Pair your hearing aids Your phone will search for devices nearby. When you see your hearing aids’ name pop up, tap it to connect. You’ll hear a sound in your hearing aids when they’re connected.
Check if your smartphone is compatible
Unpair your previous hearing aids from your phone:

iPhone device:
- Go to your Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Devices.
- Click on ‘Your Hearing Aids: Not Connected'
- Scroll down and click on ‘Forget This Device’

Android device:
- Go to your Settings > Connections > Bluetooth.
- Click on the gear to the right of [Your Name]’s hearing aids.
- Click on 'Unpair’ in the bottom right corner.
