Connecting to multiple mobile devices

Jabra Enhance Select hearing aids only support one active Bluetooth connection at a time. If you want to connect your hearing aids to more than one Bluetooth device, it's possible! You'll just need to manually switch between the two devices. Please also note that connecting to your mobile device's Bluetooth is different than connecting to the Jabra Enhance Select app.

Let’s walk you through an example: You have an iPhone and an iPad. You have the Jabra Enhance Select app already installed on your iPhone, and you've gone through the process already of connecting your hearing aids to your iPhone's Accessibility menu AND you've also connected your hearing aids to the Jabra Enhance Select app on your iPhone. Let's say you'd also like to connect your hearing aids to your iPad so you can watch a movie on your iPad using your hearing aids as headphones. How do you do that?

  • First, because you are already connected to your iPhone and your hearing aids can only be connected to one mobile device at a time, start by turning off Bluetooth on your iPhone. Go to your iPhone's Settings>Bluetooth and toggle Bluetooth off.
  • Now, go to your iPad's Settings>Accessibility>Hearing Devices. Restart your hearing aids to make them discoverable. You can do this by placing them in the charging case, waiting for the hearing aid lights to be blinking or solid green, then removing them from the case and placing them next to your iPad.
  • When you take your hearing aids out of the charging case, they'll automatically turn on, and you should see them pop up on your iPad in the “MFi Hearing Devices” box. They will show up as “Not Connected.”
  • Tap where it says “Not Connected” and tap “Pair” twice (once for each hearing aid). They should now show as “Connected” in the “MFi Hearing Devices” box.
  • You're now able to stream audio from your iPad through your hearing aids.
  • Keep in mind, when you want to use the hearing aids with your iPhone again, toggle the Bluetooth off on your iPad, and toggle it back on for your iPhone to ensure your hearing aids can connect with your iPhone again.

If turning Bluetooth off on the device that you aren't actively using doesn't work, you'll need to go one step further and unpair the hearing aids from one device before connecting to the second one.

For iOS devices, we also recommend toggling off  “Audio handoff” and “Control Nearby Devices” to avoid interference. You can find these options by going to Settings>Accessibility>Hearing Devices.
