Resolving charging issues

We understand how important it is for your hearing aids to work reliably. If you're having trouble with charging, don't worry—we’re here to help! These troubleshooting steps will be helpful if you're running into an issue with:

  • One or both hearing aids not appearing to charge
  • The hearing aids not holding a charge
  • The charging case not functioning properly

Step 1: Check the charging connections and power source

  1. For the most reliable charge, plug your wall adapter directly into a standard wall outlet and ensure you're using the power cable that came with your kit. We recommend avoiding power strips or surge protectors because as these age, they can provide inconsistent voltage. It can also be tempting to plug into a laptop's USB port, but these ports often don't provide enough “juice” to fully power the charging case.
  2. Clean the charging contacts on both the charging case and hearing aids with a dry cotton swab or a lint free cloth to remove any dust or debris.
  3. Place your hearing aids in the charging case. They should fit securely, and the case lights should turn on. If fully charged, the hearing aid light will stay solid; if charging, it will blink.

Step 2: Reboot your hearing aids

For Enhance Select 50R, 100, 200, 300, and 500 models

Sometimes a reboot can solve charging problems. Here’s how to reboot your hearing aids:

  1. Remove the hearing aids from the charging case and wait until the green light stops blinking.
  2. For each hearing aid, press and hold the push button for 25 seconds. Keep holding, even if the green light blinks after 5 seconds.
  3. Around the 25-second mark, the green light will stay on for a second. Release the button at this point.
  4. Put the hearing aid up to your ear to listen for the startup beeps, confirming the reboot is complete.

For Enhance Select 700 model

  1. With your hearing aids out of the charging case, press and hold the push button on each hearing aid for 5 seconds to turn the hearing aids off. You'll see the LED light blink 3 times.
  2. Release each push button for at least 2 seconds.
  3. Press and hold each push button again for 22 seconds. The LED light will blink once at the 5 second mark, then once at the 17 second mark, and finally 3 times at the 22 second mark.
  4. Release the push buttons for at least 2 seconds.
  5. Lastly, turn the hearing aids back on by pressing each push button down for 5 seconds. Each LED light will blink once as the hearing aids turn back on.
  6. Put the hearing aids up to your ear to listen for the startup beeps, confirming the reboot is complete.

Step 3: Reset the charging case (Does not apply for Desktop Chargers)

  1. Place the hearing aids in the charging case. Remember, the blue side is for the left hearing aid, and the red side is for the right one. Close the lid.
  2. Use a pen or paperclip to press the small black circular button on the bottom of the case for 5 seconds.
  3. Release the button and check the back of the charging case (near the cord connection) for flashing lights to confirm the reset.

Step 4: The swap test

If only one hearing aid isn't charging, this helps us find the cause.

  1. Place the “problem” hearing aid in the opposite charging slot (e.g., put the Left aid into the Right slot or vice versa).
  2. If it charges in the new slot: the original slot in your case may be faulty.
  3. If the problem hearing aid still won't charge: the issue could be with the hearing aid itself.
